Oxygen As A Commodity

Do we realize that we are consuming oxygen at free of cost. Nothing is free of cost in the world except oxygen. Earth is giving the oxygen without expecting anything from us. Earth does not trade with humanity. But humanity makes everything tradable. Even, water is a selling product nowadays. Potable Water is sold. There will be a scarcity for oxygen if we don’t care now.

Every body knows oxygen and water is important for our life. Water is sold in bottles and pocket. Our grandfathers never thought of purchasing water. But we are purchasing water in our life time. We never think of purchasing oxygen in our life time, but let our next generation should not buy oxygen. Let oxygen be free, not a commodity.

Evey body in this world give something to take. We do/provide something for our living. What ever we take/consume we have to pay or barter something either directly or indirectly. But we never give or repay anything for consuming oxygen. Oxygen is freely consumed by everybody. Do we repay to earth for providing oxygen? Nothing.

Only trees recycle or refill the environment by releasing oxygen and consuming carbon dioxide. Stop cutting trees is the old slogan. Nobody cares… People and industries keep cutting the trees. Grow trees…not every individual can do it. If you are living in city, you can not find a space or time for growing a tree.

But people live in cities and everybody can do a small contribution to the earth. Like saying ‘thank you’ to the earth for providing oxygen.

Just grow plants in pots in your home.

This is the easiest way to refill oxygen consumed by everybody.

You can use balcony, terrace, and etc to keep pots and grow plants. This may be small or micro or macro level contribution to our environment. Little drops of water makes the ocean. Like that if every individual in the world grow plants, which will be a great change at global level. Global warming will be stopped or at least get reduced definitely.

It is individual responsibility to refill the oxygen consumed from the environment. Everybody must realize it.

Grow either trees or plants to refill the oxygen consumed.

You may be wealthy or middle class or poor, but you can grow a plant in your home in a pot. If every individual brings up a tree or plant, we can see the change in few years.

Just promote this message if interested. At least grow a plant in your home and motivate your friends to grow plant in their home. Our simple effort will stop Climate Change, Ozone Depletion and Global Warming. This may solve our water problem too.

Think of a simple contribution to the earth for providing oxygen.

What is Idol Worship as per Quran

What is Idol worship as mentioned by Quran. Even many muslims think statue worship is Idol Worship. Which is absolutely wrong.

Idol worship not only related to worshiping statues or images or symbols alone. Even if you symbolizes anything as God the almighty, which may be accepted.

As per Quran, anything which occupies your mind more often than God is Idol Worship.

If you think of money and doing business for money like anything, money becomes your God. Doing business for making more money rather than meeting out your basic needs. It is Idol Worship.

Someone cheated you. You get angry with him. Days and nights you think of the person who cheated you. You imagine how can you retaliate. Nothing is more important to you than revenging him. Now the person who cheated you is your God. He occupies your mind more than anything in twenty four hours a day. Now you are committing the sin Idol Worship as mentioned by Quran.

Anything which occupies your mind for longer period and often is your God.

If you allow anything to fill your mind other than God, you are committing Idol Worship.

You have decease. If you always thinking and worrying about the decease, the decease is your God. you are worshiping the Decease.

You have some fear. You always speaks about your fear, you always act by your fear, thoughts of fear haunting you like anything. Now fear is your God. You are worshiping Fear. This is Idol worshiping.

If your brother or sister or children or friend or relative died unexpectedly. You keep thinking about the died person and sulk in depression. Now the died person is your God. You are worshiping the death soul.

You get a good job with high salary. You always proclaim your job and salary proudly. Your body language reflects your job and the richness. You move with the people, speak, think, live based on your Job and Salary. you enjoy your identification with your profession. Now your Career is your God, not God is your God. You are Idol worshiping your Career.

Here is a Example from Hindu Mythology:
In Mahabaratha, Krishna has a separate episode with Kamsan his uncle.

As per the oracle, Kamsan will be killed by his sister’s son. Kamsan tried to avoid it. But later on, Kamsan comes to know, Krishna is his sister’s son, who escaped from all his efforts to kill him.

Now, Kamsan afraid of death, being killed by Krishna. Every second he thinks about krishna. Wherever he looks he see Krishna’s face. Whatever sound he hears, it seems to be Krishna’s voice. While breathing in and out, he utter the name of Krishna.

Now Kamsan’s god is Krishna, because Kamsan fills his mind with Krishna. Now Kamsan is doing Idol worshiping.

Shivering/Haunting/Thinking about something other than God more often or always is Idol Worship.

Hope, some how you understand what is Idol worship as prohibited by Quran.

Worshiping statues, images, icons, symbols are not only Idol worship. Of course there are also Idol worship, but Idol worship is not confined to statue worship alone.

If our mind is vibrated by anything other than God is Idol worship.

During Vinayagar Chaturthi or Ganesh Chaturthi, even some muslims also think about the elephant statue.

Some people(hindus) keep thinking about the elephant statue because of Devotion. Some people(muslims) keep thinking about the elephant statue because of angriness and aversion. Both act on the elephant statue based on their emotions.

Whatever may be the emotion but both sections keep thinking about the elephant statue more than anything else. So both are committing the sin Idol Worship during Chaturthi.

Quran contains God’s message to worship God alone, but mistakenly people worship Quran more than God.

Idol worship is a sin happening mostly at thought level when compared to statue worship. Idol worship is committed by people from all the religion including muslims.

If you are a Muslim, not agreeing with the above explanation for Idol Worship, damn sure you have not read Quran at least once in your life time.

Silicon Civilization

We are living in Silicon Civilization. Human history has witnessed various known and unidentified civilizations.

Every civilization has its own life style, comfort level, technical expertise, cultural and economic system, and of course Spirituality and God.

In stone age people were having expertise in using stone for their extra comfort in hunting, fighting and sheltering.

Like that, we had Steel age during the Industrial revolution. With the expertise in chemicals we had ‘Plastic Age’.

Now, we are in age of Semi-Conductors. From poor to rich are using semi-conductors in one way or other way. From cell phone to Rockets, chips are every where.

The world is shrinking closer and closer from civilization to civilization. People across the continents can communicate just like that in silicon civilization. No other civilizations have achieved such a technical advancement than silicon civilization.

The main difference among civilizations is Technical Expertise.

There are other minor conceptual differences among civilizations. There are definition of Sin and Crime, create of God, preaching of spiritual leaders, commodity pricing, freedom and role of women. Above all, the overall conscious of people.

Collective Conscious of society is different from civilization to civilization. Each civilization has its conscious. The people believe something, and practice something. Many people have a search in their life without the clarity of what to be searched.

Is the technological advancement and its impact in the day to day life formatting the conscious of people or growth of brain? OR Are the conscious or growth of brain leading to technical advancement?

Conscious is not static. It is keep changing. Why it is changing, and how it is changing is still a mystery. In a man’s life, the conscious of childhood, boyhood, adulthood, middle age and old age are different.

Conscious is the only source of self identification or ‘I am’. ‘I am’ is keep changing within a life span of man.

Conscious is the crux of sense of well being.

The actions we do and the actions acted upon us, the thought we generate and the thought generated for us, the level of comfort, the level of stress all are changing our conscious slowly without our awareness. Change may be either in positive or negative way.

Everything in and around us shapes our conscious.

When you do not watch TV for a year, you may notice a slight difference in your conscious from others.

If you receive an appreciation and you are receiving scolding, both mount two difference conscious respectively.

By and large, conscious of all the civilizations are not same. Each civilization has its unique consciousness.

Silicon Civilization has attained the highest technical expertise compare to all other civilizations. Does it give the best sense of well being to its people compared to other civilizations?

The living standard and level of comfort in day to day life of silicon civilization is the best among all other civilizations. There is no doubt in it. But is it eco-friendly?

The more technical advancement leads to more harm to eco-system. No other civilization has done such a damage to earth like silicon civilization. More indulgence in material life, lead to less involvement in human values.

Moreover, it is the most complex living system.

Is Silicon civilization the best civilization in terms of sense of well being, complexity, and stress level in individual and society.

Does every individual have sufficient biological space in the age of Semi-conductors?

Does silicon civilization gives the best conscious to its people compare to all other civilizations?

Survival Salary

Survival Salary is just opposite to Sky Scrapping Salary.

Survival Salary is paid only to live. By getting the survival salary, you can not have any comfort in your life. You can fulfill your needs to keep breathing. You can afford for some cloths to cover your nudity.

Mostly, 30% of salaried employees getting low salary to keep them self alive. 40% – 50% of salaried employees are getting the salary to meet out their little desires and comforts. 30% – 20% of salaried employees are getting the salary to afford for their comfort and able to buy other’s comfort and time to lead a luxury life. Look around you. The ratio may be slightly vary, but by and large it is a fact.

By education and market trend, some youngsters may get a sky scrapping salary at the very early stage of their career. But everybody can not get it at early stage.

Those who begin their career with survival salary, see the world indifferently, start criticizing the society, reluctantly accept the jobs. They start to feel that they are failure, slowly develop cognitive errors and moving towards their negative side.

There are few people, who begin their career with survival salary. Soon they ascend in their career, productivity, and relationship with management to get a comfortable salary. Out of comfortable salary receivers, some ascend to get a sky scrapping salary.

Salary is not a destiny. It is a reflection of our various socio-cultural-economic aspects in synchronization with the skill set. If we change our productivity, attitude, and relationship skills, our salary will also change.

Survival Salary is a door to sky scrapping salary, for those who are ready to change and improve them self, but lacking the skills now to get sky scrapping salary.

Commitment at Work

My employee does not show commitment in his work. I assigned him in a key project. This is a very important project to be finished at the earliest. In the mean time he took leave without waiting for my permission. He just passed an intimation that he is taking leave.

He already got 15 days of leave, which begins from next week. He promised me that he will not take any more leave, once he got the approval for 15 days leave for his marriage. I argued with my management to get his 15 days leave.

Now he took leave again, he failed is words. He seemed to be not caring about the project he is doing. He seemed to be care free as let the project finish automatically instead he has to finish it. By and large, he is not committed.

There is no commitment from him towards the work he is doing. I felt disappointed. I got angry.

Here is my analysis for the situation:

The role your employee is not Bill Collector or District Magistrate or Police officer or Military General or President of United States or Prime Minister of India to have such a very high commitments.

Your employee is an amateur programmer. He is getting a survival salary per month as salary. You can not give guarantee for his job. Of course, you do not have job guarantee.

You can not expect commitment from your employee unless he is interested in his work.

Your employee can show commitment in two cases:
1) He is interested in his work.
2) He is very badly depending upon the salary and job for his social positioning.

You can not force your employee to be a dependent on his salary. It is related to his financial and social conditions. This is out of your control.

You can only make him interested in his work, by creating interest in his works.

If he does not show commitment, do not get angry. Do not take it personal or have negative feelings.

If your employee is not showing commitment, that is not your fault. It is his fault as he has chosen a career, where he can not show interest.

The simple logic about commitment is, Commitment can be shown, it can not be demanded.

Expecting commitment is stupid. Let it be shown.

Hypothesis About Stress

Stress is highly ignored issue in the society. Too much of important is given to Blood Pressure, Heart Attack, and Ashthma. If half of their importance is given to stress, we could avoid them all together.

Here are some hypothesis about stress.

Software professionals are highly prone to stress.
Well, this is wrong. Stress is everywhere. I have seen a Bus conductor in chennai, India, who was stressed out by facing 3000+ passengers per day.

People who work 12 to 18 hours per day have stress. The level of hard work done by poor Indian farmers is beyond compare.

Eating too much gives stress. Watching TV gives stress.
If I eat less, I will have stress. I watch comedy channels and movies in TV to get rid of stress.

Doing Yoga, Exercise, Meditation avoids stress.
If you are obsessed and compel yourself to practice, those things when you are not able to do them, they will give stress to you. You do not have time to do yoga, but you squeeze your schedule to do yoga, soon the stress buster becomes stress creator.

Wrong life style cause stress. If you are reading this article, your life is not worse than people who live in streets and platforms. You lead a life style, which is better than 70% of the Indian population.

My hypothesis about stress

Stress leads to change. No Stress, No Change. Stress is mutation. Proper solution to stress leads to comfort. If we don’t find a solution to stress or we withstand stress, we may have health related issues due to prolonged stress.

Every stress has a solution. We have to find out.

For me the worst stress is relationship stress. Others are stress due to lack of clarity about what we want, stress due to unknown fears, and cognitive errors.

Stress is subjective. What is stress is differ from individual to individual.

Office Politics and Groupism is natural instinct

Office politics is Good to the growth of the company. It is true. It is also good to the growth of individuals involved in. Office politics is good to both employer and employee as long as ‘Win Win’ approach is maintained by management.

Why do people create politics and groupism in work place? What is the need? Are bad people only create politics?
Is good people not involved in politics? Why do politics exist in office?

The core behind office politics is Biological instincts to Survive and succeed. It is not the human mind which makes politics in office. It is not either good or bad character.

Like hungry, sleep it is a biological instinct. It is not a character or behavior or mind set. It is a biological need of every living beings.

When you join in a company, there may be different groups already existing. You find it difficult to mingle initially. They too hesitate to accept you. You do not think as they are bad or you are good if you are not accepted.

There are few dogs living in a street. You may know how the dogs will react, When new dog comes to the street. Existing dogs fight with new dog. The fight will be equal or unequal or one sided depending upon the strength level. This is just an animal instinct, part and parcel of genetic in all living organism, which can move.

If you watch any animal TV channel, see lion’s life. Lion live in community. From 10 to 30 lions living together. One or two male will be sharing the leadership.

Young male lions in the groups are growing. Leader lions will ‘push’ young lions out of the group, because these young male will be a threat to their fathers. These leader lions want to be an top and un-challenged. It will be thrown out if somebody has the ability to challenge.

‘Pushed out young lions’, follow the survival the fittest rule. They want to have their own group to lead, when they become adult. There are some lion herd with older/weaker leader lions. These young male will kill the old lion and captured the group. All cubs of the old lion will be killed by new leader. Then new leader will start producing its own clan. Later these new leaders will be killed by next generation lion cups. It is a cycle. Ruthless cycle for leadership and dominance.

This is lion politics. This is animal politics which can move. Neither bad nor good. It is biological instinct. Human politics is happening in offices and social life in the same way.

Every human being has the right to live, succeed and reproduce. This is not character. This is registered in gene. Competition begins at sperm level. One sperm out of millions reach its destination. Every sperm like to win the race. None is ready to sacrifice its chance. Politics begin at sperm level.

Office politics can be two types: Positive politics and Negative politics.

Your contestant is better and stronger than you. You will improve yourself due to biological instinct to supercede. You will make yourself further stronger than your contestant. This is positive politics. Here, you are improved and company also benefited by your new skills. All due to politics.

Negative politics is straight opposite. You do not improve yourself, rather you improve jealous. You try to stop your contestant’s growth. Trying to make him weaker than you. Here nobody benefited. Soon you will be doing politics in another company if your contestant aware of your tricks and manages your disturbance.

Positive politics leads to ‘Win Win’ situation. Everybody wins here. You improve your skills and productivity and your contestant too. The company get benefited by both you and your contestant’s improved productivity. As long as company encourage positive politics, it grows.

The chances of loosing the battle is more if you follow the negative politics. Negative politics is heavy damage to both company and the individual.

It will be stagnated or loose its productivity and business after loosing human resource in ‘Win Lost’ situation. ‘Win Lost’ is a negative politics. Here nobody improves anything.

Less alcohol intake is good for your health. Too much of Alcohol intake is bad for your health. Little bit attention to office politics is good to your improvement. Don’t allow office politics to occupy your head completely. It will lead to ‘Win Lost’ situation.

Best way to deal office politics is they are Salt to Food.

Have an attitude as ‘Everything is God Willing’. Do not compare yourself with anybody. Everything is God willing. This will make you ignore office politics. At the same time listen and response to your biological instincts to keep you survive and succeed.

Biological instinct is also God willing.

Working is Charity

If you are working, you are doing Charity. Working is an indirect way of Charity.

Out of my salary, I donate from few hundreds to thousand to orphan homes or some trust taking care of deserted people. I was thinking, this is my only charity activity.

Later I realized, working in a company is also a ‘Charity’. By making the company profitable, you help the company to expand and recruit more people. By employing new people company gives the employees a ‘living’.

Employment to an individual is a rise of new family. Basic needs with or without additional comfort are provided to three or more people in the society.

By helping your company to grow and recruit more people, you are indirectly providing provisions for people to have a living. It is a good charity through it is indirect.

Dedicate your work for the good company or good proprietor.

There are companies/proprietors who suck your blood and keep the profit with them self. They do not expand the company or give you more salary. You are treated as working machine, not human being. If you are not emotionally or physically well, do not work in such company.

How do you find a good company to do your ‘charity of working’? It is very simple.

In this ‘Silicon Civilization’ or age of semi-conductor, if any company expects you to work for 8 hours per day with weekly two off, It is your company. The proprietor who is running such company is not running a company, he is actually doing a charity. It is the company which takes care of your work life balance.

Join with the person who is already doing charity by recruiting you. Help him to do more charity by recruiting more people. Providing a ‘living’ to a family is better than donating money.

Helping to build a better society is the best charity.

You can contribute to such charity by working in a company which is already doing charity. Be part of it, ‘help’ it to ‘help’ more people to have a decent living.

Feel your work as a charity.

Tribute to Photographic Film

More than a century photographic film is in use. For Photography and Movies they were blood lines.

Photographic film is a big industry where millions of people lived by production and sales. It was a big sales item in travel and tourism and social functions.

After serving the humanity for more than 100 years, it is time to say goodbye to Photographic film.

The impact of Digital Camera, has made the ‘film roll’ as obsolete and an article for museum. Slowly but steadily photographic and movie industry is changing to digital camera usage.

There are so many products come to the market, and disappear soon due to technological development. But it is the ‘film’ which last for more than a century.

Pager came into the market and made useless by cell phones. Pager did not survive for even a decade. Now cell phones are in the market for nearly two decades. But soon they will be outdated by satellite phones. Video cassettes and video player has survived for around 50 years in the market, but they are outdated by VCD/DVD players.

Many products has short life span in the market, and some has long. But it is rare to find a product which has life span of more than 100 years in the fast changing world. ‘Photographic Film’ has such reputation.

Let us show gratitude and appreciation for the great product which is going to be not in use completely within a decade. Once the digital camera prices are come down, the coffin for film will be ready.

Here is a chance to witness the speed of evolution. I witness two evolution, one in biology and in web practices.

Evolution is a process, happening slowly across thousands of years. A man can not notice a evolution in his life time. Man’s life span is faster than the Evolution speed.

Biological Evolution:
Britain’s love of bird tables may be interfering with evolution. The feeders are changing the migratory habits and even the shape of some bird species.

Blackcap, a warbler, is increasingly wintering in England instead of the Mediterranean after being drawn here by the abundance of food in gardens. Shorter migration and different food source is reducing the size of their wings and beaks.

This is my second hand witness(Source Indian Express). I notice a biological evolution.

Evolution in Web Practices:
For a long time, I was seeing testimonials are in yellow background and black letters. Many websites have few testimonials with two or three lines.

Recently I saw some of the clients, coming with scanned copies of testimonials and publish in their sites. The letter pad or business profile, where testimonials are ‘hand written’ is scanned and published.

I witness a evolution in displaying testimonials in websites.

Speed of Evolution in Internet is drastic. It is beyond notice. Internet evolves rapidly. Before we notice a new thing, it becomes an obsolete. It is very tough to remember what is the past, present and future trend in Internet.

Biological evolution takes years and years. A man can not notice a biological evolution in his life time. Change in the Blackcap’ wings and beaks are rare opportunity to notice a biological evolution.

An neighborhood species stimulate the new evolution in another species. Human speed up the evolution in Blackcap’s size and migration.
